JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBS 2) – Dozens of Jersey City police officers took to the streets to rally against proposed staffing cuts to their department amid calls to recall Mayor Jerramiah Healy.
Healy proposed laying off 89 members of the police force.
The officers staged the protest outside Wednesday night’s City Council meeting.
The city said the cuts could be averted if the officers agree to concessions, like giving up their $1,300 annual uniform allowance.
